Originally, I was going to put this into an email to StormRider, but then I thought that it was so interesting and funny that I thought I'd share it with the rest of you guys: He'd mentioned to me in April that there was a fox and its kits under his house. Then, a few days ago, I'm with Spot in my backyard, and she suddenly does this scared-cat-rubbernecking thing where her eyes get big and frightened and she was looking off into the undergrowth that lurks on the other side of the fence, where our neighbor's backyard is. Well, I look where she's looking and I don't see anything, but then something moves and I see a fox! It was like 20 feet away, and there was no mistaking it for anything else. I said to her "A fox! I've never seen one of t…

I like reading...the dictionary. Yes, I typed that right. The dictionary! I can read it for hours. There's so much information in a dictionary, even if it is just meanings of words. I learn so many "new" words to befuddle my friends and parents, like "cat suit" which means a one-piece garment that covers the torso and legs...otherwise known as a jumper. Which brings me to this week's Trivia...

You won't find "fuck" in any dictionary (printed, that is). It was banned from dictionaries (and other "printed pages") in 1600, because it wasn't considered very "Christian." Before then, it had appeared everywhere. Nowadays, you can find it in novels and such (as you no doubt know), but it still isn't in dictionaries.

What do you think the ratio is of …

I never used to be all that into comics, but recently I've picked up a lot of the alternate reality stories for Marvel, and something really struck me as potential inspiration for The Institute in Fallout 4.

The organization known as A.R.M.O.R. (Alternate Reality Monitoring and Operational Response Agency), primarily operates out of an underground facility colloquially known and referred to as the Hollow. This facility houses some of the greatest minds on Earth, and the only way in and out is through methods of teleportation, which are kept in check by the director and his robot/cyborg military division.

While they do utilize (human/etc.) heroes from other outfits such as S.H.I.E.L.D., their primary resource for manpower is seen through the c…

You have Good Cops, you have Bad Cops...and then you have Lazy Cops. Since I love watching true crime shows, I see a lot of this. So called "open and shut" cases. It makes me so angry when I watch about Lazy Cops; how they didn't investigate all clues and leads, how they didn't interview everybody, how they missed or lost evidence, how "accidental" deaths sure look like homicides with all the revealed (often by private eyes) clues and evidence, how the cops believed some witness or sombody that clearly shouldn't have been believed. Some poor people end up in jail for years or decades until it is found out much later that they were innocent after all. I end up yelling and shouting at the TV, I get so mad. If only all cops were all like those TV co…

I've been advised by Wikia that they're intending to use the featured video "Feature" to force trailers onto the following pages.

    • Nuka-World_(add-on)
    • Far_Harbor_(add-on)
    • Fallout:_New_Vegas
    • Vault-Tec_Workshop
    • Lonesome_Road_(add-on)
    • Dead_Money
    • Honest_Hearts
    • Old_World_Blues_(add-on)
    • Contraptions_Workshop
    • Wasteland_Workshop
    • Mothership_Zeta_(add-on)
    • Point_Lookout_(add-on)
    • Operation:_Anchorage_(add-on)
    • Broken_Steel
    • The_Pitt_(add-on)
    • Fallout_76

We have made it abundantly clear that these additions are not welcome, and are in controvention to the community's stated will and against local policy. Wikia have chosen not to listen.

We do not intend to take this action lying down.

As you may recall last time this was an issue, we initiated plans to create an alternative…

I’ve been meaning to write for a while to write some sort of “state of the wiki” thing. Given the changes in our relationship with Wikia (T/a Fandom) I think its important to give people a sense of whats going on, and where we’re headed.

Events today have meant I've had to accelerate that to today.

Wikia (T/a Fandom) has been the host of the Fallout Wiki Project since its move from Duck and Cover, until the Split (where the Vault branding followed the fork out to Curse/Gamepedia), and as Nukapedia following the split.

Our relationship has risen and fallen over the years, but we think its safe to say its either at, or near, an all time low. We no longer take it for granted that what is good for Wikia is good for us, and are alarmed about the…

    Trophy Guide By: Warren Woodhouse

Here is my approach and an example on how to achieve the Trophy result if you’re having trouble achieving it:

    1. Make sure you have the Contraptions DLC installed or have the Game Of The Year Edition.
    2. Open the Workshop in a large settlement (such as Sanctuary Hills or Vault 88), in Vault 88 the train station area further in the Vault is large enough to have all the Builders linked up.
    3. Hook up a Terminal to the Builders. Collect Resources needed to build Objects from the Builders. See this list of Objects. Make sure that the Builders and Terminal are powered by at least 2x Nuclear Power Relays, this Object comes with the Vault-Tec Workshop DLC.
    4. Use 500x Steel to produce 100 or more Steel Balls (5x Steel = 1 Steel …
